Wildflowers of Remnant Tall Grass Prairie
A Photo-Essay by Lorrie Meier
This is a thorough description of the Shooting Star Scenic Byway
one of the few places left to experience the tall grass prairie
with its abundance of native North American wildflowers.

The Prairie Visions volunteers hope you enjoy this vicarious experience enough to come visit.  Stop the car and walk into the prairie and discover your own specimens. Better yet, bring your bike or boots and take the Shooting Star Trail for your adventure.

And if you are a student of the pioneer days when wagons carried our forefathers to these rich lands, a visit here offers a glimpse of yesteryear.

The photos and essay by this mother-daughter team provide a valuable record.

Because the photos in both the exhibits and in the photo-essay are large, it may take a few extra seconds to download them, especially on a dial-up connection.
